Wave Queen (1861); Cargo vessel; Ship rigged sailing vessel

Scale:Unknown. A contemporary full hull model of the Wave Queen (1861), a ship-rigged cargo vessel. The hull is constructed plank on frame with the topsides and bulwarks painted black and the planking below the waterline finished in a natural and varnished state. The clipper shaped bow is fitted with a bowsprit and the curved sheer line runs aft finishing at the overhanging counter at the stern. On deck it is complete with a number of cargo and accommodation hatches, pin and fife rails together with a large windlass on the foredeck. The model is incomplete and damaged with a number of the larger fittings missing including the rudder.
