HMS Wolverine (1863); Warship; 21 guns
Scale: 1:48. A model of the port side of HMS Wolverine (1863), a 21 gun warship made entirely in wood and painted in realistic colours. The hull below the waterline is painted brown with a narrow cream stripe above, and black above the waterline, and the single deck is painted cream. The port quarter and stern galleries are shown, the windows painted green and decoration highlighted in cream. Fittings include A stump fore, main and mizzen masts, a funnel, open gunports with red painted inner faces, three channels, provision for a propeller, a cathead, and a stump bowsprit.
The model is displayed on an off-white backboard with a stained bevelled edge. The plaque is inscribed: 'HMS Wolverine 21 guns, 1703 tons. Built at Woolwich 1863'. Number: '(55)' on backboard'.
