Diamond 1867; Cargo vessel
Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the starboard side of 'Diamond' (1867), a coastal/river cargo craft, made entirely in wood and painted in realistic colours. The hull is painted light brown below the waterline and black above which has a crazed patination. The gunwale and foremast are unpainted. The tall single funnel, atop a boiler-like device, is positioned well aft. The model is displayed on a wooden backboard with bevelled edges, and whose French polished surface has a crazed patination. On ivorine plaque attached to lower right-hand corner of backboard: ‘S.S. Diamond 66' x 17'-6" x 8'-6" ‘. On label attached to bottom of backboard: ‘Built 1867’.
