HMS Hercules; Warship; Battleship; Central battery

Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the port side of the battleship HMS Hercules (1868), made entirely in wood and painted dark brown below the waterline, a narrow white stripe above and black above the waterline. The paint has an overall crazed patina. Hull details include a ram bow, two large gun mounting insets, rows of square portholes, and a well for the propeller which is either missing or was not originally fitted. Other fittings include stump bowsprit, foremast, mainmast and mizzen mast, and two lozenge-shaped funnels, painted black. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame with bevelled edge.
