HMS Inconstant (1868); Warship; Frigate; 16 guns
Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the port side of the 16-gun frigate HMS Inconstant (1868), made entirely in wood and painted brown below the waterline, a narrow white stripe above and black above the waterline. Hull details include stern gallery windows, rows of square portholes, a rudder and a well for the propeller which is either missing or was not originally fitted. Other fittings include stump bowsprit, foremast, mainmast and mizzen mast, and two funnels, painted black (forward funnel currently missing). The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame with bevelled edge. On plaque applied to bottom left-hand corner of backboard 'Inconstant'.
