HMS Albatross (1873); Fighting vessel; Sloop; 4 guns
Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the starboard side of the composite screw sloop HMS Albatross made entirely in wood and painted in realistic colours. The hull is painted brick red below the waterline and black above. There is a well for the propeller which is either missing or was not originally fitted. Fittings include stump bowsprit, foremast, mainmast, and mizzen masts. The model is displayed on a backboard painted white with a bevelled edge. On plaque attached upper part of backboard ‘ "Albatross". Composite sloop launched 1873.’. On left-hand side of backboard ’62.’.
