HMS Medina (1876); Warship; Gunboat
Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the port side of the iron screw gunboat HMS Medina (1876), made entirely in wood and painted pink-brown below the waterline, a narrow white stripe above and black above the waterline. Hull details include rudders fore and aft; short forecastle; turret deck; two gunports forward and one gunport aft; and port propeller shaft casing and mounting. Other fittings include stump foremast, mainmast and mizzen mast, superstructure placed amidships including a conning bridge and entry port, all painted ochre; and single funnel, also painted ochre. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame. On plaque attached to top left-hand corned of backboard ‘Medina’.
