Brynhilda (1885); Passenger/cargo vessel; Ship

Scale: Unknown. A half block model of the starboard side of the ship-rigged passenger/cargo vessel Brynhilda (1885), made entirely in wood, painted and polished. The hull is polished wood below the waterline and painted black above. Features and fittings include a clipper bow, stump bowsprit, forecastle with portholes, hawse hole that has been painted onto the model, abd figurehead. The model is displayed on a rectangular mahogany backboard. On starboard bow ‘Brynhilda’. On starboard broadside ‘Brynhilda No 293’. On backboard ‘Alex.I Stephen & Sons Shipbuilders & Engineers Glasgow’.
