HMS Sharpshooter (1888); Warship; Torpedo gunboat
Scale: 1:192. A half block model of the starboard side of the torpedo gunboat HMS Sharpshooter (1888), made entirely in wood and painted tan brown below the waterline and black above. Details include a long foredeck on which is mounted a single small gun; a stump foremast, mainmast and two funnels, all painted ochre; torpedo tube; small gun aft; and rudder. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame with bevelled edge. Inscribed on a plaque attached to the top right-hand side of the backboard is ‘Sharpshooter’.
