Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the first class battleship HMS Royal Sovereign (1891), made entirely in wood and painted in realistic colours. The hull is painted brown below the waterline, with a narrow white stripe above and black above the waterline. Hull fittings include a ram bow; two rows of portholes; recessed area for stowage of anchors; two gun placements fore and aft of amidships (missing); port side propeller shaft casing and support frame; and rudder. Other fittings and features include two large guns on circular platforms fore and aft (forward gun missing); two bridges abaft the forward gun and forward of the aft gun; two stump masts, painted ochre; and single stump funnel, painted ochre. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame with bevelled edge (left-hand section missing).
