HMS Jason (1892); Warship; Torpedo boat
Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the starboard side of the torpedo boat HMS Jason (1892), made entirely in wood and painted which has been over-painted in the recent past. The hull is painted pink-brown below the waterline and black above. Hull fittings include a long foredeck with wave deflector and single small gun; two rows of portholes; and a rudder. Other features include a stump foremast and mainmast; six ventilators of varying sizes, all painted ochre; two funnels also painted ochre; and single small gun aft. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame. Inscribed on a plaque attached to top right-hand side of the backboard is ‘Jason’.
