Falkland Bank (1894); Passenger/cargo vessel
Scale: 1:48. A model of the starboard side of the Falkland Bank (1894) made entirely in wood and partly painted in realistic colours. The hull below the waterline is varnished wood and black above with a broad white stripe running horizontally at just below main deck level. The white stripe is periodically marked by black rectangles. Fittings include a forecastle, a capstan, a cathead, a figurehead depicting a white robed female figure, stump fore, main, mizzen masts and bowsprit, two deck houses with skylights on the main deck, ventilator, and poop deck with deckhouse and bench. Inscribed on the starboard bow is: 'Falkland Bank'. Plaque removed. The model is displayed on a polished mahogany backboard with a lighter wood frame.
