Compeador V (1938); Recreation vessel; Yacht
Scale: 1:24. A half block model of the starboard side of the steam yacht Compeador V (1938) made entirely in wood and mainly varnished. The hull is made from three horizontal sections of mahogany. Features include a long foredeck, aft deck, bulwark amidships and rudder. Fittings include a stump foremast and mainmast and a single funnel, painted cream. The model is displayed on a rectangular mahogany backboard with bevelled edges. Hand inscribed in black and gold lettering on bottom centre of backboard ‘Campeador V 120 0" WL 20 6" beam 200 tons Y M Designed by Norman Hart AM INA for V W Magandrew Esq Built by Philip & Son Ltd Dartmouth 1938’.
