Merchant aircraft carrier (circa 1943); Warship
Scale: 1:96. A model of a preliminary design for a merchant aircraft carrier (circa 1943). The model has been carved from solid wood and painted a uniform mid-grey colour. It is sparsely detailed, made specifically to show the upper hull shape, seven gun placements, flight deck and to indicate the hanger deck. Close to the starboard bow, there is an extension to the hull, possibly provision for a conning tower, but the part is missing and the extension face is unpainted. The model is currently stored on a chipboard baseboard.
