Plating design model of a floating fuel station which represents the Esso Langstone, Esso Seaford Bay, Esso Thamesman, Esso Torbay, and Esso Weymouth Bay. The model is made entirely in wood and stained and varnished a gold brown finish identical to the finish on the backboard. The model is inscribed with plating information and also fittings such as scaling ladders, draft marks at the bow and stern, a plimsole line, an entry port, and port holes. Deck fittings include a sign containing the Esso Petroleum company logo, two lights rigged to a mast, and four fuel pumps. The backboard has straight bevelled edges and is inscribed with the principle dimensions of the vessel: ' Esso Petroleum Co Ltd Floating Service Stations No 920 `Esso Torbay' No 921 `Esso Seaford Bay' No 922 `Esso Thamesman' No 923 `Esso Langstone' No 924 `Esso Weymouth Bay' C/6491/W Dimensions Length B.P. 60'-0" Breadth MLD 16'-0" Depth MLD 5'-6" Camber 3" in 16'-0".'
