Aurora (1965); Tug; Water tractor
Scale: 1:24. A half block plating model of Aurora (1965), a water tractor. The model has been made entirely in wood and carved from a single block with the inwardly curving gunnel made from a separate piece. The hull has been painted ivory white. The hull has been marked with constructional details which include the size and disposition of frames, weld lines and joints, as well as interior features such as the location of the bulkheads for bunkers and machinery. The hull has a flat bottom, the underside of which is marked with the position for the circular shaped Voith-Schneider propulsion unit. The model has no backboard and the rear face has been left with a natural wood finish.
