Service vessel; Lifeboat

Scale: Unknown. A full hull model of a sailing lifeboat made entirely in wood with metal fittings and unpainted. The carvel hull is built plank-on-frame. The hull planks, most of the stem post, keel and stern post are made from a light-coloured wood, while the top part of the stem post, strake, bulwarks, gunwales and the turtle decks at the bow and stern are a darker wood. Fittings include rudder and tiller, five rowlocks on the port and starboard sides, five thwarts, mast and furled sail and a crest or insignia on the port and starboard bows and backboard. The model is mounted on a pair of fine decoratively turned brass pillar supports and displayed on a rectangular baseboard with diagonal bevelled edges.
