Recreation vessel; Yacht
Scale: Not to scale. A full hull model of a cutter yacht (circa 1890) made in wood and metal with organic material fittings and painted in realistic colours. The hull is inaccurate in shape and has an exaggerated keel, made of lead. The lower part of the hull and rudder are painted green and the upper part black. The deck is painted brown and fittings include a bowsprit, single mast with top mast, two yards and a boom, skylight and companion hatch cover. Two jib sails are rigged to the bowsprit and there are two further sails on the mainmast. The model is mounted on a pair of shaped wooden crutches connected by a stretcher.
