Fishing vessel; Ballentrae

Scale:Unknown. A plaster copy(?) of an original wooden half block design model of a Ballantrae boat. The double-ended hull has a relatively flat sheer with an almost vertical stem and raking stern post fitted with a large rudder. The plaster hull has been painted in two shades of brown oil paint to give the impression of a bread and butter construction as well as to illustrate the waterlines and lifts of the hull shape. The whole model, which has a large crack midships and other damage elsewhere, is mounted on a wooden rectangular and polished mahogany backboard with a slight moulded edge.
