HMY Victoria and Albert III (1899); Royal/ceremonial vessel; Yacht

Scale: 1:146. A full hull model of HMY Victoria and Albert III (1899) made entirely in wood and painted in realistic colours. The vessel is depicted on a launching cradle and with a come complete with a set of launching flags consisting of the Union Flag, the fouled anchor of the Lord High Admiral, and two white Ensigns. The hull is painted copper brown below the waterline, black above with gold decoration at the bow and stern and along the broadsides. Hull fittings include intermittent rows of portholes on two decks; a single row of large square windows with narrow gold stripes above and below them; two propeller shafts but no propellers or rudder; and gilded trail boards and stern decoration. Other fittings include three separate parts to the superstructure, all of them one deck in height and painted white; and two identical raked funnels, painted chrome yellow. The model is displayed on a wooden realistically depicted launching cradle with brass fittings.
