Equipment model; Anchor model
Scale: Unknown. A model of a Hall's anchor improved by H.P. Parkes & Co Ltd. The model is made entirely in brass with a lacquered finish. The shank is square in section, one face is inscribed along its length: 'H.P. Parkes & Co Ltd'. At the top of the shank there is a D-shackle that pivots on a rivet. The shank pivots on the crown through an arc of approximately eighty degrees. The bottom of the crown is slightly convex and there is a rectangular aperture through which the bottom of the shank can be seen. The pivoting mechanism is held in place using two plates and a pair of bolts which are themselves held in place with a pair of split pins. The arms are slightly convex and on their upper face the flukes sweep upwards vertically to approximately half the height of the shank, with a pair of lateral flukes fitted underneath. The shank is inscribed: 'H Y Persehouse Parkes & Co Ltd'.
