Equipment model; Anchor model
Scale: Unknown. A model of a Fellow's patent anchor, made entirely in aluminium alloy. The shank is rectangular in section with slightly rounded corners, and the top is rounded incorporating a D-shaped shackle that swivels on a bolt. Along the length of one short side of the shank is inscribed: 'Fellow's patent'. The shank pivots on the crown in an arc of about seventy degrees. The bottom of the crown is semi-circular and there is a rectangular aperture, with two semi-circles cut into the long sides, in the centre through which the bottom of the shank can be seen. A bolt passes through the crown, held in place by a spring clip which secures the shank. On either side of the semi-circular part of the crown there is a semi-circular shaped plate, reinforced on the undersides by two straps. On the upper surfaces of these plates the arms spring outward and upward and terminate in a pair of integrated flukes.
