Scale: Unknown. A model of a Gruson's patent anchor, sanctioned in 1920, and made entirely in a light metal alloy which is patinated a dark, dull, grey colour. The shank is a flattened circle in section and is inscribed in hand rendered lettering along the length of one side 'Modell Gruson D.R.P. D.R.G.M.' and along the length of the opposite side 'Otto Gruson & Co. Magdeburg-Buckau'.At the top of the shank is a 'D' ring that pivots on a round headed rivet. The shank swivels in an arc of about 90 degrees and the base of the crown is a complicated casting when viewed from below, the swivelling mechanism being viewed through four apertures. On either side of these apertures there are a pair of slightly concave rectangular plates that help to give the anchor stability when being stored in an upright position. The flukes are wide in section terminating in prominent flukes whose palms have tear shaped indentations.
