Equipment model; Anchor model
Scale: Unknown. Model of a Hingley's challenge patent anchor made entirely in brass and plated in a bright silver finish (worn and tarnished). The shank is square in section and along one face is inscribed "N Hingley & Sons Ltd sole makers" and on the opposite face "Hingley's challenge patent.". At the top of the shank is a D-ring that pivots on a round headed rivet. The bottom of the crown has a circular aperture through which the swivelling mechanism can be seen. The arms have bolts or pins passing through them that stand proud on either side of them. The flukes have on either side of them, concave indentations.
