Equipment model; Anchor model

Scale: Unknown. A model of a Hartshorne's patent anchor made entirely in steel and patinated a matt finish. The shank is rectangular in section and one broad face is inscribed in capital lettering "Hartshorne's patent". There is a 'D' ring at the top of the shank that pivots on a concealed rivet. The shank swivels on the crown through an arc of about 90 degrees. In elevation the shank, crown, arms and flukes form a 'W' shape, the arms, flukes and palms combining into contoured slab-like faces. The base of the crown is a convex rectangular shape, the sides of which form part of the hinge mechanism for the shank. Projecting horizontally from the sides of the arms are a pair of buttons that resemble capstans in shape, and which can be unscrewed from the main anchor body.
