Jones and Lloyd anchor

Scale: Unknown. A model of a Jones & Lloyd patent anchor, sanctioned in 1898, made entirely in brass and lacquered. The shank is rectangular in section with rounded short sides along most of its length. The shank tapers toward the top which is rounded and incorporates a D-shackle that swivels on a flush-fitting rivet. The shackle pivots on there crown through an arc of about 70 degrees. The bottom of the crown is octagonal in shape with inward-curving corners. There is a rectangular aperture in the centre through which the bottom of the shank can be seen. The arms sweep vertically upward terminating in a pair of integral spear-shaped flukes.
