Equipment model; Anchor model
Scale: Unknown. Model of a Wasteney Smith improved pattern stockless anchor sanctioned in 1871. Model is made entirely of wood except for the D-ring, nut and bolt, and the weight attached by a cord to the D-ring, all of which are made of lead. The shank is rectangular in section and tapers towards the top. Part of the crown appears to be missing as there are fixing holes to the bottom and side of the crown. The shank pivots on the crown through an arc of approximately 80 degrees. The vertical flukes reach a height of approximately half that of the shank.
