Equipment model; Anchor model
Scale: Unknown. A model of a stockless anchor, circa 1895 made entirely in brass which has been either lacquered or gilded. The coating or gilding is marked or tarnished in places and there are areas of wear. The shank is rectangular in section and tapers slightly at the top to which is attached a D-ring that pivots on a round-headed rivet. The shank pivots on the crown through an arc of about forty five degrees. The bottom of the shank is circular, through which passes the arms that curve upwards to form elongated flukes. On either side of the circular part of the shank are two figured plates that form the crown that are held together with bolts and hexagonal nuts. The shape of these plates is broadly circular but with extensions on either side that have concave edges.
