Equipment model; Anchor model

Scale: Unknown. A model of a common pattern anchor with a wooden stock (1800). The main body is made from iron painted a uniform black, with a shank circular in section which eventually flattens towards the crown. The two upturned curved arms are complete with a pair of flat triangular palms finishing with pointed bills. Towards the top, the shank is rectangular in section and is drilled and fitted with a pivoting bow shackle. The wooden stock consists of two parts, with a horizontal top edge and an angled bottom edge, held together by six hoops painted black over the grained stock.
