Equipment model; Anchor model
Scale: Unknown. A model depicting part of the process of manufacturing an anchor, made entirely in iron. The model shows how a palm is made. The shape of the palm is shown complete, polished and the method of constructing it can be seen. The section shows that it is composed of five separate pieces of iron. There is a flush-fitting screw on either edge of the palm and a round-headed screw on one side of the bill. The surfaces of the palm are slightly convex. Attached to the bill is a long length of rod that tapers to a point. The rod is square in section nearer the palm and then gradually becoming circular toward the end.
