Equipment model; Anchor model
Scale: Unknown. A model of a frame stock anchor (1829) made entirely in brass. The model shows the metal stock passing through the shank at right angles close to the crown. The shank is lozenge-shaped in section, but with straight sides, and tapers slightly at the top. The top of the shank is bulbous to accommodate a D-ring that pivots on a bolt held in place by a retaining clip. A second bulbous point near the bottom of the shank is a securing point for the two frames (one missing) that join onto the ends of the metal stock mounted below them. The frames are set at an angle of about thirty degrees from the stock and are secured to the shank by a single bolt held in place by a retaining clip (missing). The crown is pointed and the arms are jointed, the upper half of which hold conventionally shaped flukes with prominent bills.
