Equipment model; Anchor model
A model of a five-armed grapnel anchor, made entirely in iron, and roughly forged. The shank is square in section with rounded corners, and tapers to the top where is becomes round in section. The top of the shank incorporates a fixed ring to which is attached a larger free-moving ring. The five arms are set equidistant forming a star-shape when viewed from below. The arms are U-shaped, sweeping first downward then curving upward terminating in oval-shaped palms.
