Equipment model; Anchor model

Scale: 1:4. Model of a Rodger's patent anchor (1833-1846). Model made entirely of metal and is complete with a gun metal finish overall. The shank is square in section and tapers out towards the crown where there the arms curve upwards towards the flat, triangular-shaped palms which are mounted on the lower side of each arm. In the centre of the crown is a hole used for securing a tripping wire or anchor float line. The metal stock is almost triangular in section and rests on a shoulder and is held in place by a fidded metal wedge. There is a pair of circular eyes at the end of the stock while at the head of the shank is fitted a swivelling bow shackle.
