The shank is square in section and tapers out towards the crown, drilled with a circular hole, where the arms curve upwards towards the flat, triangular-shaped palms which are mounted on the lower side of each arm. The metal stock is almost triangular in section and rests on a shoulder and is held in place by a fidded metal wedge. There is a pair of circular eyes at the end of the stock while at the head of the shank is fitted a swivelling bow shackle to which is attached a length of chain. On the shank there is an inscription in white ink which reads "1893".
