Equipment model; Anchor model
Scale: Unknown. A model of a mushroom anchor made entirely in iron and painted black. The paint finish is very degraded and the surface is pitted and oxidised. The shank is round in section and tapers to the top where is bulges out to form a circular ring fastening, through which passes a large iron ring. At the bottom of the shank there appears to be a screw thread visible, just before it joins into a wider diameter cylindrical section that forms the centre of the mushroom weight. Directly below this is the crown which has underneath it a small hoop to which is attached a short three-link chain, at the end of which is a small disc. The forearms are set at right angles to one another and terminate in four arrow-shaped flukes, whose edges are linked to one another forming a perfect circle when viewed from below.
