Warship
Scale: 1:600. One of two boxes containing a set of recognition models depicting vessels in the Grand Fleet and the German High Seas Fleet. This box contains 33 models painted with light grey paint. There are 77 instructional waterline models in total, of which 62 represent ships that fought at the Battle of Jutland in 1916. Models are decked and equipped. See also SLR2816.
The origins of this type of model are thought to date back to the First World War when they were used for training airmen to identify warships from the air. They have subsequently become a recognized scale to work in and are highly collectable as well as a popular choice with modelmakers.
