King George Dock
Scale: 1:640. A model of the ro-ro terminal at King George Dock, Hull (circa 1978) made in wood with metal and plastic components and painted in realistic colours. The model depicts two passenger ferries, Norland (1974) and Norwave (1965), a vehicle ferry Norsky (1977), and a molasses tanker Athel Duchess (1968), as well as numerous barges. The section of the dock includes an oil, or chemical, terminal with two whole, and two partly depicted, storage tanks; two car parks and a lorry park; warehouses with shallow-sloping pitched roofs; domestic housing; and infrastructure features including roads, arc lights, street lighting and grass verges. On port and starboard bows of molasses carrier "Athel Duchess". On port and starboard bows, and stern "Norland" and port and starboard stern quarters "Norland Hull". On port and starboard bows "Norwave" (1965).
