Scale: 1:24. A model of the elliptical-shaped bow of HMS Alarm (1845), as designed by Sir William Symonds, made entirely in wood. The hull is painted copper below the waterline, black above with a white stripe along the gun deck. The ten gun ports, together with the bowsprit aperture and hawse holes are painted red. The beakhead is complete with driftrails and screens which finish on a pair of catheads. The figurehead is an ornately carved cockerel which is painted a dark brown colour. The interior of the model is complete with a small section of gun deck painted brown with the upperworks painted an olive green. On the stem is a paper label which reads "7".
