Submarine cable

Submarine cable. Submarine cable stripped back in layers. The core consists of seven copper wires surrounded by gutta percha and then a layer of hemp. The outer sheathing consists of sixteen iron wires covered by tarred hemp. There are metal bands on either end of the outer covering section. At the end of the outer sheathing section and also the hemp section metal wire has been wound round.
