Warship; Three decker; First rate
Scale: Unknown. A stern model of a three decker, first rate warship made entirely of wood. The hull has been carved from three large pieces of solid wood to which the stern and quarter gallery details have been added. The hull is painted black overall from the waterline up apart from three thick horizontal bands along the gundecks finished in a creamy white. The gunports have been painted onto the side of the hull with a thin red line and a darker shadow internally. The quarter gallery consists of three layers of glazed panels, three in each layer interspersed by painted decoration of foliage and trophies all finished in a creamy white gold colour. The stern gallery is complete with six guns projecting through raised sash windows and are fitted with red tompions. There are two additional guns projecting through the hull just under the stern counter together with a pair of carronades above the gallery projecting through the taffrail. The stern gallery is richly decorated with foliage and small trophies finished in a white and gold. On the taff rail is one half of the royal coat of arms. The inward faces and top are finished in a creamy white colour.
