Component model; Sectional model
Scale: Unknown. A sectional model showing the principle of supporting and connecting wooden deck beams to a ship's side using iron knees. The model is made entirely of wood, with the deck beam, planking and waterways painted a creamy white with the iron knee and clamping strake painted a gloss black. The knee itself is complete with a reinforced head of a riveted construction, as well as the clamping strake. According to the catalogue the purpose of the model is to show how the iron knee is connected to the beam by a series of eight iron bolts.
