Component model; Frame model

Scale: Unknown. Model depicting the frame of a wooden vessel with a small section of hull planking and the method of joining a deck beam to the ship. The model has been made largely in wood (oak) and stained a dark brown colour. The frame has been made in two overlapping sections connected by three treenails and three short pieces of hull planking have been fastened one above the other to the frame. A short section of deck beam has been fastened to the frame and supported on the upper most hull plank. Metal fastenings around the deck beam are secured to the shorter frame timber and a separate fastening secures beam to the longer framed timber.
