Component model; Rudder model

Scale: Unknown. A model depicting the stern post and rudder of a sailing vessel. The stern post and rudder have been made as two separate items both made from wood and varnished. The rudder and stern post attachments and fittings have been made in brass and lacquered. There are three hinges depicted, with the remaining four hinges indicated by strips of paper. The rear most edge of the rudder has been decoratively shaped. The position of the tiller arm has been indicated at the top of the rudder by four black painted squares. The stern post assembly has been indicated by finely scribed black lines.
