HMS James Watt (1853); Warship; 2nd rate; 91 guns
Scale: 1:24. A model of the lower section of the starboard quarter of HMS James Watt (1853) showing access to the propeller trunking and well on the lower gun deck. The model is made entirely in wood, painted copper below the waterline, black above with a white stripe along the gun deck. There is a thin white line dividing the copper colour and the black hull. There are three gun ports which are painted red internally while the interior is painted a creamy yellow colour. There is a small circular aperture for the prop shaft and a cross-shaped opening in the deck for the raising and lowering of the propeller (prop shaft and propeller missing). There is a rudder mounted on the stern frame and painted in similar fashion to the hull. Number "7" on label on keel (now missing).
