Warship; Wooden-hull iron clad; Frigate
Scale: 1:1. A model of a scupper valve made entirely of brass, and two pieces soldered together with a pair of hinges at the top running parallel sides to a rounded bottom. The valve is bulbous on both sides, one side having a flat edge to it, the other rounded to the joining edge, forming a hollow chamber and making the whole valve completely water tight.
On each face of the bulbous part of the valve is a hand painted inscription in white paint. One face has “48oz” and the other "32oz".
One of a set of two models: see SLR2407.
