Warships; 74-guns
Scale: 1:12. One of a pair od=f models that illustrate two plans for scuppers to be fitted to lower gun decks of a 74-gun ship circa 1815. The whole model has been constructed from various types of wood with a natural varnish finish. Inboard illustrates the deck beams and the planking, which has been lain diagonally. A section of the gun deck planking together with a section of the scupper missing.
On both ends of the cross section the model has been scored to show the construction of the outer planking, the frames, deck beams and ceiling planks.
