Equipment model; Capstan model

Scale: Unknown. Model of a single capstan made in wood and polished, with brass fittings, and constructed in a method similar to the item that it depicts. The various components are fitted or dove-tailed together and held secure with brass and steel pins and rivets. The base of the capstan has a steel peg. The model is displayed in a bespoke mahogany display case, with an open front and held in position by a shelf that has a circular aperture inset through which the capstan spindle passes. The shelf is mounted in the case by two shelf brackets mounted on the two side walls.
