Equipment model; Swivel block model

Scale: Unknown. A model of an iron bound swivel block (circa 1853). The model is made from iron and wood and consists of an elliptical shaped iron strop with a circular collar drilled at the top to enable the block to swivel. A simulated wooden sheave is fitted at the lower end of the strop and is held in place by two screws. The swivelling mechanism would appear to be incomplete.

On the wooden component it is inscribed in hand written ink "20th July 1853".
