HMS Victory (1765); Warship; First rate 100 gun
Scale: 1:16. A model of the foremast of the first rate 100 gun warship HMS Victory (1765), showing the damage it received at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The model is made in wood that has been varnished, and the mast bands have been made using brass strips that have been painted black. The upper part of the mast has also been painted black. Attached to the side is a type written and varnished paper label. There is a number '7' is painted half way along the mast. The shot damage sustained in battle has been accurately depicted. Made from a piece of mast from HMS Victory.
