Equipment model; Bowsprit model

Scale: Unknown. Model of a small section of the bow of a warship showing the method by which a bowsprit can be run in and secured. The model is made largely of wood and painted in realistic colours, the exterior hull section is black with a broad horizontal white band. The bowsprit is painted green with an off-white tip and the inboard hull and bowsprit housing is also green. The bowsprit has a metal securing pin set into it so that when the bowsprit is retracted, the pin is released and locks the bowsprit in its retracted position. There is provision for a second pin located aft but this is missing.
